2 Year Colleges

Two year institutions offer certificates in a variety of professions and Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. A certificate in a program is not a degree. This type of program typically takes less than a year and allows you to work in a particular type of job field such as a dental assistant or welder. An Associate of Arts degree is a general studies program that you can transfer to a four year institution. An Associate of Science degree is a specialized program that enables you to go directly into the work force upon graduation. Some of the fastest growing occupations require a two year degree. Check out Greenville Tech or Spartanburg Community College for more information. For admission into a two year college, you need a high school diploma or GED. The ASSET or Compass test are required for placement.
