Landrum High School Student Signs with The United States Air Force

Ian Wingo is smiling for a number of reasons. He's just signed with the United States Air Force, and as an added bonus, he will receive $7,000. This is because of the job he has been assigned to: Intel Fusion Specialist.

Ian scored well on the ASVAB (the military entrance exam), and as a result, was given the option to work in this career field for the US Air Force. According to TSGT Adam Raffety, Ian has already been accepted to the Air Force Community College, where he will earn college credit while in enlistment. In addition, Wingo is set to receive $61,000 toward college tuition through the Montgomery GI Bill.

Wingo has been a member of the school's ROTC program since his freshman year of high school. His participation has helped to give him a rank increase, as well as a pay increase in the Air Force. (This will equate to a $200 pay increase).

Ian is excited to begin his career in the United States Air Force upon graduating from high school.
