This Week's Cluster - Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources

Students with an interest in this cluster enjoy being outdoors, going hunting and fishing and want to learn how things grow and stay alive. Some careers in this cluster include game warden and landscape architect.

Swofford Career Center offers courses in landscaping and horticulture. Interested in this cluster? Meet with your Guidance Counselor and consider taking a landscaping course at Swofford.

Military.com is an informative website about the various military branches. This website gives you information about jobs in the military, entrance requirements for each branch and salary information. There's also practice tests for the ASVAB, the required test to enter any military branch.

This Week's Cluster

Architecture and Construction. Students with an interest in this cluster enjoy planning and designing, working with their hands, and thinking outside of the box. Gardner Webb/Limestone




Landrum students toured the campuses of Gardner Webb University and Limestone College. Gardner Webb is a private Christian college located in Boiling Springs, NC. Gardner Webb offers several majors including athletic training, sign language interpreation, education, and much more. The minimum grade point average for admission is a 2.5. SAT or ACT scores are required.



Limestone College is located in Gaffney, SC and is a private liberal arts college. Limestone offers majors in musical theatre, psychology and more. A grade point average of a 2.5 is required for admission and SAT/ACT scores are required for admission. SC state scholarships such as the LIFE and Palmetto Fellows are applicable at Limestone.

South Carolina recognizes 16 career clusters. This week's focus is on Agriculture, Food and National Resources. Converse College




Converse College gave Landrum students a special treat on October 28th. More than 15 students toured the campus and were the given the opportunity to "sit in" on classes. Converse is a private, all female, liberal arts college located in Spartanburg, SC. Converse offers a plethora of majors. One of Converse's newest majors is nursing. This five year program enables students to study at Converse their first 3 years of school and then finish at Vanderbuilt University in Nashville their last 2 years. The student will have earned a Master's in nursing by the end of the five years. For more information about Converse, click here.
