United States Military Academy at West Point

ACT

All juniors are taking the ACT on April 23rd. Juniors must bring a photo ID and should bring their own calculator. If they do not have a calculator, the guidance office will supply a 4-function calculator.  For a list of permitted calculators during ACT testing, click here.

Senior Award's Day

Senior Award's Day is scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2014 at 9 a.m. in the Landrum High School gymnasium. Parents are encouraged to attend.

Last week, seniors received an award's day/transcript request form. This form must be completed by May 1st.


AP Tests

AP testing will begin May 7th and conclude May 14th. Students who are currently in an AP course will take the AP test at Landrum High School on a designated date by The College Board. The following is the AP Testing Schedule:

May 7th: AP Calculus
May 8th: AP English Literature
May 9th: AP English Language
May 12th: AP Biology
May 13th: AP French
May 14th: AP US History

ACT test offered at LHS on Wednesday, April 23rd

The ACT will be offered to all juniors at Landrum High School on Wednesday, April 23rd. Spartanburg County Public Schools District 1 received a grant, and all 11th grade students will be able to take the test at NO COST on this date. Students should get plenty of sleep the night before, eat breakfast and study for the test prior to taking it. The LHS media center has books/dvds that students may check-out. The ACT is comprised of English, Reading, Science, and Math. There is no guessing penalty, and the test is timed.

Every college/university in the US accepts ACT scores for admissions.

Wofford College Free Chinese Summer Camp

Students in grades 8th - 12th who have a B+ GPA and are interested in learning more about the Chinese culture are encouraged to apply for Startalk. Through Startalk, students can go to China without taking a twenty-four hour flight. Startalk is an intensive two-week program, running from June 9-20, 2014, with eight additional modules scheduled through the rest of the year. Students will participate in cultural activities. There is no cost to attend, and students should apply early. Priority is given to students who can attend a majority of the program. To apply, click here.
