USC Upstate Youth Leadership Summer Institute

USC Upstate is hosting a one-week residential camp that offers students the opportunity to gain leadership skills by participating in a variety of activities. Some of these activities include: public policy issues, current community issues, global conflicts, diversity, and fostering civic engagement. USC Upstate Computer Science

Dr. Sebastian VanDelden of USC Upstate's Computer Science major, spoke to Mrs. Givins' and Mrs. Johnson's 9th grade science classes about careers in computer science. He demonstrated the use of robotics equipment and gave students the opportunity to use the robotics machine. Due to a shortage of students majoring in computer science, there is a high demand for computer science careers in South Carolina. Students with an interest in computer science should take rigorous math courses and computer systems technology courses offered at Swofford Career Center. Students Tour USC Upstate Campus

Forty four juniors visited USC Upstate for a campus tour. Students had the opportunity to learn about admissions requirements and scholarships. They were shown campus facilities including the USC Upstate Wellness Center, library, classes and the dining hall. We thank USC Upstate admissions for their spectacular tour. USC Upstate admissions spoke to students about admissions requirements, financial aid, and majors offered at USC Upstate. The average G.P.A. an incoming freshman has entering USC Upstate is 3.5. Average SAT and ACT scores are 1017 SAT and 22 ACT. There is no application deadline, as USC Upstate is on a rolling admissions basis. However, it is in your best interest to apply early.
